A book of art and poetry. Denise’s art and poetry works with the interplay of images that are related conceptually or with images that swim in memory about a particular time or place or event. Many of the pieces are based on a specific geography, time, and event in the artist/poet’s own mind. The work uses disjointed, fractured and layered images evocative of dream and memory. Much of her poetry starts with a visual image, which she jot down in the form of a poem, and then return to later to flesh out as a work of art. Other times, Denise develops the work of art right away, and then returns later to write the poem.
